Firm NewsJohn Quinlan is Reappointed to Florida's Board of Accountancy by Governor Charlie Crist Governor Charlie Crist has reappointed John Quinlan as a member of the Florida Board of Accountancy for the term ending October 31, 2010. The Florida Board of Accountancy is a division under the Department of Business and Professional Regulation whose nine-member board is charged with enforcing the state's accountancy laws. All members of the Florida Board of Accountancy are appointed by the Governor and subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate. Pursuant to s. 473.303, F.S., seven of the board members must be CPAs who have practiced public accounting on a substantially full-time basis for at least five years. Two must be laypersons (consumers members) "who are not and have never been CPAs or members of any closely related profession or occupation." At least one member must be over 60 years of age. The board meets approximately 10 times a year at various locations throughout the state and meetings are open to the public. Mr. Quinlan will continue to serve the people of Florida in this capacity for another three-year term. |
